Dear Online Marketer,
Prepare yourself for something different.
Instead of pummeling you with over-the-top promises of dominating, exploding, infernos of traffic, we’re going to skip the exaggerations and start with the facts.
We decided to be straightforward because we want to get the elephant out of the room.
Here’s the deal. The ebook is called TYPO GOLD, which means that you’ve probably already figured out from the “typo” part of the title that it’s about getting traffic from typos and misspellings.
Look, we’re gonna be honest with you. We realize that using misspellings and typos on websites and with domains, is, for some, old news.
But the well-worn typo and misspelling methodologies that you probably know compared to what you’ll learn in Typo Gold, is like listening to the 1938 War of the Worlds radio broadcast instead of seeing the 2005 movie on a gigantic IMAX screen…in 3D.
And we’re not modest or shy about that claim. Heck no! In addition to being noted authors, we are in-the-trenches Internet marketers just like you. Together we boil, braise, brew and deep-fry online marketing techniques, like Iron Chefs.
We know what’s out there. If you’re an online marketing ebook author you could tell us your name and we could tell you the title of every ebook you’ve written.
We’ve read it all, which is why we can positively say that a detailed explanation of typos and misspellings doesn’t exist. We think we know why.
We do. We’ve been mining the gold in typos for years. TYPO GOLD is a compilation of our findings from a decade of experimentation and real world use. We show you the techniques AND we show you the proof.
And, frankly, the timing couldn’t be better.
Lately doesn’t it seem like finding cheap, targeted, fresh traffic is getting harder and harder? That’s why we all find ourselves looking to the latest piece of software or guru-certified formula to locate traffic-inducing strategies. And nowhere is this more true than with keywords.
Most of us have run the gamut with the (now-defunct) Overture Search Term Suggestion Tool (we miss you!), Wordtracker, Good Keywords and so on.
When I, Alexis, worked a 9-5, I’d go to a little coffee shop every morning before heading to the office. I frequented this particular coffee shop because there was a cute guy who passed through at the same time for his daily bagel.
Every morning before I left home, I did a complete visual examination.
Heels… check. Foxy skirt… check. Every hair in place… check. Perfume dotted in strategic bodily locations for maximum scent effectiveness…(sniff) check, (sniff) check, (sniff) check.
It was all done in vain because this guy barely glanced my way. When he did, he was reaching for a knife to spread the cream cheese on his bagel.
As you can imagine, I quickly gave up on any prospect of getting to know Cute Bagel Guy.
One off-from-work morning I paid a visit to the coffee shop wearing a big floppy sweatshirt and rollers in my hair. It happened to be within the same time frame I normally went to this coffee shop before work.
8:37… Cute Bagel Guy strolls in. And the weirdest thing happened.
He started talking to me.
“Good morning!”
Bewildered, I quickly glanced around. Was he talking to me?!? ME with the crazy pink twisty rollers, and the sweatshirt with bleach stains around the sleeve??? (Gasp.)
“How are you?” he asks. In my direction… in my FACE even.
My gosh, you could’ve pushed me over with a feather. For months, I’d been trying to catch Cute Bagel Guy’s eye with my high heels and pencil skirts. And he never noticed me until I came in wearing hideous pink rollers.
Apparently he liked me in my natural “here-I-am” state. Now that’s a guy to bring home to Momma!
There’s an interesting and related footnote to this story. Over the years I’ve noticed that certain keywords – (yes the same keywords you use online) – have a similar effect on people.
Everyone is trying to catch the consumer’s click with obviously attractive keyword choices. However, not everyone is searching using these obviously attractive keywords.
Instead they use keywords that are inadvertently typos and misspellings.
And if you understand the big idea behind properly choosing and using these ugly keywords, you can stand there like a traffic cop at a broken stoplight, waving this traffic right over to your website.
The thing about misspellings and typos is that they’re often viewed as favorably as a ketchup stain on a white shirt, five minutes before a $100K a year job interview.
At least, that’s the consensus of spelling bee champions and perfect typers.
But the actual factual-ness is that misspellings and typos simply don’t exist for a lot of us. Don’t get me wrong, they’re really in our documents, search boxes and address bars, silently smiling for the camera. But we don’t see them. And there’s a very good reason for that.
You see, typos are mechanical errors, meaning that people hit the wrong keys when they type, and usually aren’t watching the screen.
This happens when people look at their keyboard when they’re typing. Because their eyes are on the keyboard, they aren’t noticing the mistakes that are on the screen. The other situation is people who type fast. Too fast. We all know that people in a hurry don’t watch where they are going.
But typos are just part of it. What about people who don’t know which keys to hit because they don’t know how to spell the word?
According to the authors of the Dictionary of Simplified American Spelling, “English is by far the most erratically spelled of modern languages.”
Bad spelling is usually associated with a limited education. While that’s true, bad spelling has another cause…it’s a little neurological glitch called dyslexia
Dyslexia causes folks to transpose letters when they type, or just not understand the sounds in words so they can’t spell a word by sounding it out.
So what it all boils down to is that if a bad speller or typer Googles a keyphrase or types in a URL incorrectly, it’s very possible they won’t even see the error.
Listen, none of us are going to solve the existing English language spelling problems plaguing millions, or magically make the world better typers overnight.
As an online marketer you can ignore bad spelling and typing. Or if you’re a no-nonsense traffic fiend, you can meet them on their turf. Their very uncluttered turf. With tons of places to park and room to stretch your legs.
That’s exactly what we’ve been doing. And that’s precisely what we teach in TYPO GOLD.
Needless to say, we’re sold. We’ve been using these strategies for years on all our sites. Why?
They’re ready to buy, but they can’t find you. You’re using pretty keywords and they are using ugly keywords.
The solution is simple. Since they are not going to find you, you have to go to them. If you use the same ugly keywords they are using, it’s a match. But you have to know which ugly keywords they are using.
You’ll find out EXACTLY which keywords using a method explained in the first part of TYPO GOLD. It is a 100% proven technique for finding the misspellings and typos – the ugly version of your keywords – that these folks use the most.
For example, if your keyword is “sinus infection” we give you a technique to find out which of the 271 typos and misspellings of
“sinus infection” will get you the most traffic.
(We also give you a special generator to find all the typos and misspellings, but we’ll get to that in a minute.)
We call this technique of finding the most popular typo/misspelling versions of keywords a RECON and it is like nothing you have ever seen
It’s so good that we almost didn’t write this book because we felt like we were giving away our child. But we did and you’ll find out why we did when you get to that chapter.
What we can tell you is that for less than ten minutes of time to set up and basically no money a TYPO GOLD RECON will tell you exactly what is the #1 misspelling/typo of your keywords. You’ll also find out which is the 2nd, 3rd, 4th for as long as your list.
When you know which are the most used typo/misspelling variations of your keywords you can aim knowing you are going to hit your target 100% of the time
This is empirical data. No guesswork. No darts. Just 100% indisputable proof.
Armed with your list of the #1, #2, #3 (and so on) misspelled and mistyped variants of your keywords we show you step-by-step how to turn these “ugly winners” into traffic magnets. Other than natural search results these strategies will deliver to you the cheapest, most targeted traffic you’ll ever get.
Here are some specific examples:
We cover it all… white hat to (admittedly a few) dark gray hats, and everything in between. TYPO GOLD goes into traffic-filled cracks and crevices that are rarely touched by even the savviest of online marketers.
