What Will You Learn?

Wine – an alcoholic beverage made through the fermentation of various fruits. It sounds so simple and at its core, it is but it’s also so much more. Wine has a history and culture of its own; it’s an industry worth billions, but it’s also an immensely significant social lubricant enjoyed at everything from get-togethers with friends and weddings to formal meetings between business associates.

The Winemaking Diploma Course provides insight into the origins and history of winemaking, the winemaking procedure and all the equipment required, and step-by-step guidance in producing your own wines.

Spanning the globe, winemaking is a centuries-old tradition. We’ll explore the origins and history of the winemaking process – from ancient civilizations, medieval Europe and the Middle East to the American continent, whilst discovering the ways in which the process has evolved in the 20th and 21st centuries.

You’ll be guided through the fundamental steps of the winemaking procedure and all the equipment used in the process, before exploring different types of wine in more detail.

You’ll learn about full-bodied and medium-bodied red wines, full-bodied and light-bodied white wines, fortified wines, sparkling wines, rosé, and sweet wines. You’ll also receive step-by-step instructions in making each of the following wines: Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Burgundy, Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Port, Sherry, Champagne, Prosecco, Rosé, Grenache Rosé, and Sweet Wine.
