How did cheese become so popular? Weā€™ll discuss the origin of cheese, cheesemaking in ancient civilisations and the global cheese boom.

Following this introduction, itā€™s straight onto the cheesemaking process, as we explore the five steps used in making pretty much every cheese on the market. Split into two parts: ā€˜basicsā€™ and ā€˜otherā€™, Ā youā€™ll also explore the equipment used in the cheesemaking process ā€“ providing an understanding of what is essential and what is optional.

Itā€™s then onto what youā€™re here for ā€”the cheeses! Youā€™ll receive and follow recipes and guides for all the different types of cheeses. This will not only allow you to make them at home but also give you clarity and insight into how certain cheeses get their flavour and look. Expect recipes for all the greats including brie, feta, English stilton, cheddar, Roquefort and much, much more divided into the following: fresh cheeses, bloomy rind cheeses, washed rind cheeses, hard cheeses, and blue cheeses.

The course concludes with a module on dairy-free/vegan cheeses. Weā€™ll outline the differences between normal and vegan cheesemaking processes and provide you with three tasty vegan cheese recipes that you can follow at home.

Accreditations

The Cheesemaking Diploma Course will take you up to 150 hours to complete, working from home. There is no time limit for completing this course, it can be studied in your own time at your own pace.

This is a Level 3 course and will give you 150 CPD (Continued Professional Development) points.

Upon completion of your course assessments, you receive 2 certificates. A certificateĀ from the Centre of Excellence and a CPD certificate displaying the number of CPD points earned from the course.

This course is endorsed by the Quality Licence Scheme. Therefore, upon successful completion of this course, learners can also receive a certificate of achievement from Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary, which lists the details of all the units the learner has completed as part of the course. (This certificate is optional and costs an additional Ā£25).
