True, there were some valuable courses. But it was as rare as finding a diamond in African clay. And I had to agree.
There were no literal benefits to studying these courses. In fact, even if you have your own divinely-given talent, most of these courses actually reduce your sales.
The people on my list were generous with some of these courses. In fact, some of these courses would have been useful to humanity if they were recycled before they were printed.
Shish. Even now in the 21st century, people are still familiar with Ben Franklin and puppies. Yes, they worked when people were selling encyclopedias to people who were little illiterate. And they certainly did a great job of selling TV to people who didn’t have electricity (you might have sold them empty boxes)
But what really matters is …
Not even the best of these courses were worth …
They all lacked important ingredients
Success in sales doesn’t depend on closing deals. In fact, by the end of the deal, you probably missed the sale.
In fact, if you didn’t know about the three 4-letter words, you missed more sales than you expected.
Let me prove it in the story.
Once upon a time, there was a lawyer trying to start the Personal Injury Law.
But everyone told him, the field would be too crowded and he would not be able to break into it.
This young lawyer knew what others didn’t know. He didn’t know what the word “can’t” mean.
So he went to another more established lawyer and said, “Are there cases where I can’t win? Are there cases where I can’t?”
And he continued to say that he would give them half of all his income if a lawyer could not win him a trial.
And the lawyers opened the file and gave him all the CAN’T Win cases.
And what do you think this young Whipper Snapper lawyer did? exactly. Won all one of these cases because he didn’t know the meaning of the word “can’t”
