From the Studio of Paul Davids
Rotterdam, The Netherlands

I didn’t always love the acoustic guitar as much as I do today.

But as I began to realize, it was a gradual process. to I learned more about acoustic styles. to It is a great game.

I discovered some of the most enjoyable things as I went along. to play that deeply resonated for me, the acoustic instrument really came into my life. to My life is my responsibility.

I learned fingerpicking and was able to teach myself. to make the acoustic guitar sound like nothing else – from playing meandering arpeggiated chords, to You can play chords and melodies simultaneously!

Also, I discovered that an acoustic guitarist can be You can find out more More than just a way to strumming some cowboy chords, we all probably know.

It can sound almost like a band with a bassline, rhythm section and chords. to Come out.

Once I discovered fingerstyle, I had a new language that was emotionally expressive and fun. to play, but also made me understand much of today’s music in a far deeper way.

It’s all of these things that, together, brought out the best of the acoustic guitar for me.

I felt a lot more fulfilled from that point forward. to play my acoustic guitar as often as I could – even more than the electric – simply because the things I could play were just so much fun.

So, in the following paragraphs, I want to to Let me share my experience with the things that made the acoustic guitarist possible. to Life for me and how you too can learn these things.

Because even if you don’t realize it yet, there are tons of incredible things you can already play if you’re at an intermediate level, as long as you know where to Find them.

But first, I want to talk about an important question many guitar players ask themselves…

Why learn the Acoustic Guitar?

You might already know the answer if you already regularly pick up your acoustic guitarist.

Perhaps you already know what it is like to just take it off the stands and sit down. to play without any expensive pedals or amps – with nothing between you and the six strings of your guitar.

Maybe you’ve already fallen in love with the genuine, direct sound that no electric instrument can match – feeling the resonance of every note you play throughout your body, making the sound not only warm and beautiful, but also very personal.

You might be still in the process of discovering all that the acoustic has to offer, as I was once.

The important thing I didn’t always understand is this:

The acoustic guitarist is more than just a guitar. “little brother” of the electric guitar, it’s a beautiful instrument that has stood the test of time in its own right.

Right up until the time of the birth of blues, which was nearly one hundred and fifty years ago in the Mississippi Delta, there has been a lot to celebrate. to Modern-Day studio recording sessions for artists from many genres, the acoustic instrument is just as relevant today than it was decades ago.

And so, when you go deep into exploring the styles and techniques available on the acoustic guitar, you won’t just sound great and have a lot of fun bringing your guitar to life…

…You’ll also become a better, more versatile and well-Two important aspects of being a guitarist are:

1. A deeper understanding of modern music

Learn the various styles and techniques of the acoustic. to offer, you’ll become familiar with the history of the instrument, and the ways that several older styles have blended to Influence the music of today

The acoustic guitar has played a significant role in the evolution of blues music over the past century. to Blues was a vital part of the evolution of guitar music.

So, by becoming more fluent in playing the blues, you won’t just learn to play traditional blues tunes – you’ll also get an innate understanding of the greatest modern guitar songs that have a bluesy influence.

And that means when you hear a new song that you love, it’ll be so much easier to understand the sound you’re hearing, and how it translates to The guitar.

For example, I was able to learn more styles from the past when I was able to understand so many things I’d been hearing in my favorite music, from Eric Clapton, Paul Simon and John Mayer to The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac.

Learning the acoustic’s history, to get a deeper understanding of today’s music

Learn more styles to Create your own sound
2. Create your own sound

It opens up a world of possibilities when you are familiar with many techniques, such as different styles of fingerpicking, hand muting, rhythms and melodies played together and percussive shakes, muted strummings, and other variations. to Play music that expresses your feelings to say.

It’s like going from just learning a few words, to Fluently speaking a language.

Instead of feeling restricted to Campfire-style strumming, and you can mix in any techniques you feel right to Set the mood with a specific song or setting.

This means that you can create. “magical moments” with your guitar, where you’re suddenly playing something amazing without even giving it too much thought.

You will also have the ability to use a wide range of skills. to create your own sound…

Because you will gain more skill the more techniques and styles that you learn. to Pick and choose the ones that resonate most with you.

And it’s the process of choosing those particular elements that will allow you to Move beyond copying others and create your own identity as a musician.

There are many reasons to be thankful. to Anyone can learn the acoustic. to You will be a better and happier person.-A well-rounded guitarist would do well to You should spend more time learning it.

But what’s the best way to do it?

What is it? to Learn

Learning any type of guitar requires that you learn the foundations of the instrument, such as proper posture, fundamental techniques and some scales.

However, for those who have completed the beginner stage and are more intermediate players, the next step to fluency on the acoustic instrument will be to practice a variety of styles and techniques.

Now, in a perfect world, you’d go on and explore all of them – playing as much as you possibly can and learning everything…

We also have to Recognize that not all exercises and techniques are created equal.

There are some things that each style or technique offers that are just plain more fun. to play.

These are the things you need to make your playing more enjoyable “extra.”

These are the things that you will be most satisfied with and will want to You can play it over and over again.

They are the “treasures” The best styles and techniques for the acoustic guitarist.

Now, while certain things are highly personal in taste, I’ve also learned that there are some things that resonate with everybody (and this is true for virtually every style and technique).

And the good news is, once you’re an intermediate player, most of these things are actually already well within your reach… with a bit of practice, of course.

The tricky part is knowing where. to Find the right stuff.

Let me share some of my thoughts with you…

A Map to The Best Stuff

But I didn’t always know where the really cool stuff was.

During that time I also encountered more than one thing that didn’t resonate with my personal style.

I persevered with the acoustic guitar and slowly discovered one good. “nugget” The next one will follow.

In the end, it was a journey that took me well over 15 years – and it’s still going!

I was able to to Do this and invest as much time as you can because I was fortunate enough to be able to do it. to Be a complete-Time musician and teacher. However, not everyone can afford to have that much time.

So I decided to create a course to help other guitar players discover the coolest and most fun elements of the acoustic guitar – without having to Spend 15 years looking for them.

The course is like an outline for guitarists with all the hidden treasures marked.
