How to improve explosive short range power and how to throw energy in all directions…
About this Course:
Hi, I’m sifu Wayne Belonoha – welcome to my course, the same one I teach in my Wai’s Kung Fu schools. I’m a certified instructor, lineage representative, author, and hall of fame inductee who has been training martial arts for over 40 years.
Using my professional background in course development and teaching methodologies codified the entire ving tsun system as I was taught into a 108 step course that simple to follow. I will guide you through the system so you can experience authentic Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) kung fu at your own pace.
The Course
– Over 36 hours of video lessons and growing. (Approx 28 hours are in this set, the workshops making up the new material is sold separately).
– Professionally filmed multi-angle video so you can clearly see what’s being taught.
– Professionally recorded audio so you can clearly hear what’s being taught.
– Professionally designed course curriculum to give you what you need when you need it.
– Professionally produced lessons plans including SMART objectives, onscreen tips, flyins, reminders, quotes, idioms and maxims, homework, drills, and more.
– An engaging and arguably funny professional instructor (me).
This course teaches very fine details – more than other courses – but stops short of spoon feeding the most important lessons. I leave room for you to engage your own sense of wonderment and discovery, because the lessons learned through personal experience are the most valuable. I don’t want you to miss out on those lessons, nor to miss learning how to learn. I seek the balance between giving you too much and giving you not enough. I want to supply absolutely everything you need to grow a flower, without just giving you a flower.
My program is not made up of a bunch of information to be collected, nor is it purely entertainment or just “techniques” to beat up an opponent, it’s a strategically designed experience to help you learn and improve valuable and long-lasting skills.
Thanks for considering my course. I look forward to being part of your journey.
-sifu Wayne.
Level 1 provides an introduction to Wai’s Kung Fu Complete Ving Tsun System and contains steps 1-12 of 108. It provides the foundational techniques and stances as well as sets a strong foundation required for future skills.
In level 1 you will be introduced to the following:
– The first 5 parts of the Siu Lim Tau form to learn the centerline and basic hand movements.
– The fundamental stance, techniques and blocks of the system.
– How to punch correctly and deliver multiple strikes per second.
Running Time: 4 hours 21 mins
Level 2 starts to teach from the Fundamentals & Technical Proficiency, Short Range Power Development and Sensitivity Program.
In level 2 you will learn the following:
– Part 6 of the siu lim tau form.
– The one leg stance to develop great balance and waist control.
– How to rotate and shift to dissolve incoming forces.
– Chasing and aggressive long step.
– Front and side kicks.
– Bong / Laap Da Drill to start teaching redirecting force with redirection.
– The single hand sticking hands curriculum to start developing your sensitivity.
Running Time: 3 hours 9 mins
Level 3 continues to enhance the skills from the Fundamentals and Technical Proficiency, Short Range Power Development and Sensitivity Program.
Completion of the program to learn the centerline also teaches how to improve explosive short range power and how to throw energy in all directions so you can strike down an opponent even when you are not facing him.
In the knockout power program you will continue to develop stone hard fists and practice to deliver that power into an opponent or boards.
The Sensitivity and Technical Reaction program will introduce attacking and defending against an opponent using the basic three blocks.
The long range distance closing program will introduce the hands so you can use your sensitivity and technical reaction when you are attacking your opponent.
In level 3 you will learn the following:
– Part 7 of the siu lim tau form.
– Double Sticking Hands, rolling, running and catching.
– The core attacks and defenses within the sticking hands programs.
– The first set of the unstoppable attacks.
Running Time: 5 hours 13 mins
Level 4 continues develop skills from the other programs and also teaches to move the centerline while improving skills from the Balance, Waist and Root Development program.
Starting the second form, Cham Kiu, in level 4 you will improve your rotating with power, rootedness and relaxed firmness. Being nimble plus stable is a key element when moving the centerline for strategic advantage.
The fundamentals program will introduce the remaining core ving tsun techniques and they will be applied in the sensitivity and Technical Reaction program.
With the long range distance closing program you will learn how to handle the situations where the opponent you’re attacking starts to counter that attack.
In level 4 you will also be introduced to the Balance, Waist and Root Development program. In this program you will learn to stay balanced and rooted so your strikes and blocks are more effective and the change you fall down approaches zero.
In level 4 you will learn the following:
– Part 1 and 2 of the cham kiu form
– The pushing horse program to train stability while pushed or pulled
Running Time: 3 hours 19 mins
How to move the centerline with the 3rd part of the cham kiu form. You will be introduced to rapidly shifting your weight from even weighting to empty-leg weighting. Doing this will help to avoid sweeps should someone attack your front leg. This skill will supplement the skills learned in Seeping & Takedown Mitigation.
In this program you will learn sticking, trapping and leg sensitivity – which when coupled with strong rooting and mobility will cause your opponent to fail should he try to make you fall to the ground.
The Mid Range Distance Closing and Fight Preparedness program in level 5 introduces you to the situation where you have long distance contact with your opponent. The initial stages of contact will start to feed you information about your enemy that, as you get closer, will provide valuable information to the skills developed in the Sensitivity and Technical Reaction program.
In level 5 you will also start to learn leg sensitivity in the introduction to the plum flower posts program.
Running Time: 1 hours 45 mins
Continuing to learn to move the centerline, you will be introduced to shifting direction while maintaining an empty leg. This skill is core to learning the pole play and is also necessary for reacting to an unexpected shove.
In the Grappling, Trapping and Joint Lock Mitigation program you will learn how to trap your opponent and prevent them from trapping you. In doing so you will develop strong anti jointlock skills. Additionally the knockout power, strong horse, leg sensitivity will be integrated to give you strong skills to prevent grappling.
The Mid Range Distance and Fight Preparedness program will start to introduce less cooperative partners as you start to integrate skills from the other programs for self-defense.
In Level 6 you will also start the 3 Second Fight Training Program. This final preparatory program strives to remove all the rules imposed during training to get you ready for a situation where there are No Weight Classes, No Padded Mats, No Unfair Play, No Pre-Selected Opponents, Rare One on One Fights, No Protective Gear and No Referees. Generally speaking, anything can happen.
The Integration and Attitude training is the introductory program for training fights skills that start after a bridge with your opponent has been established. Any attack or block, including kicking, is allowed! This is where you can develop the focus and attitude needed for real fighting.
Running Time: 2 hours 01 mins
Starting the Recover The Centerline program will start to develop the skills needed for when you have been hit and are in an emergency situation. This will couple with situations that may occur as you work through the Grappling, Trapping and Joint Lock Mitigation, Sweeping and Takedown and Kicking Mitigation programs. Now, all programs, your opponents will be more skilled and more aggressive. The need for strong fundamentals like simultaneous block and attack, one strike knockout, and a stance like a mountain become imperative to survival.
Your skills at entering into your opponent’s boundaries will continue to be sharpened in the Mid Range Distance Closing and Fight Preparedness training. As the skills from the other programs are honed, they are integrated into the “Fight Simulator” – the Three-Second Fight Training program. We remove the rules and allow more aggressive play to prepare you for the street. Fortunately at this level the soft skills of avoidance and flow are high, as is power control, so although it’s furious activity, injuries are extremely rare.
Running Time: 3 hours 14 mins
This is the crucible where fighters are formed. Integration of all strong key skills from all the programs are performed. Any attack, from any distance, to any target – with no protective gear.
In this level we also start to refine our power and positioning using the wooden man. Similar to fine-grit sandpaper, the wooden man will allow you to show your opponent they are outmatched without actually having to knock them out. In level 8 we will also start the pole play with drills from the famous Luk Dim Boon Quan – the six and a half point long pole.
Running Time: 2 hours 19 mins
We continue with the integration of all the programs into the Three-Second Fight Training program. We will go back to previous programs to refine the weak areas and prepare to open our own schools when we graduate from level 9.
At this level we will continue our pole play and learn the final form of the system with the Baat Jaam Dao – the 8-directional cutting swords. Additionally, we will start to practice to improve our teaching skills at this level so we can pass along this great traditional skill.
Running Time: 2 hours 44 mins
